       用于制造树脂结合剂磨具的金刚石磨料,传统产品为单晶颗粒,大多数(70%以上)为针片状,表面光滑,与结合剂结合不牢,磨削过程中过早脱落,使用效果不理想。本文目的就是为了解决这一问题。本项目以粉状石墨为原料,以铁基合金粉末为触媒,对原料的成份和配比、合成块的组装结构、合成工艺参数及调控方式,进行了系统的试验研究,在六面顶压机上,研制出了一种金刚石磨料新产品——CSD(Crumb Structure Diamond)磨料。合成压力和电功率与合成单晶金刚石的工艺参数基本相同,而合成时间较短,不超过5min,石墨转化率达到80%左右。得到的新产品不是针片状单晶颗粒,而是团粒结构的颗粒,颗粒形状为等积形,表面粗糙,凹凸不平。经制作成砂轮使用证明,金刚石与结合剂结合牢固,在磨削过程中呈微刃破碎,自锐性好,磨削锋利,寿命比传统产品成倍提高。CSD磨料可作为RVD金刚石磨料的更新换代产品使用。

1 引言

国内外制造树脂结合剂和陶瓷结合剂磨具使用的金刚石磨料,包括国内牌号RVD、原De Beers公司的RDA、美国GE公司的RVG、俄罗斯的AC2、日本东名公司的IRV等产品,均为单晶金刚石颗粒,形状不规则,大多数颗粒连等积形都不是(等积形指长轴与短轴尺寸之比小于1.5的颗粒),针片状颗粒占很大比例。例如RVD,标准规定针片状允许70%以上。这类磨料的颗粒形状如图1所示。

2 CSD金刚石磨料的特征

2.1 CSD金刚石磨料晶体结构特征

3 粉状石墨与触媒合金原材料优选试验研究

我们从1995年起在国内最早考虑用粉状原料代替片状原料的方案。这一方案的提出借鉴了国外三项成果。其中一项成果是前苏联用直接合成法制造金刚石聚晶的方法。这一方法制造聚晶虽然不够成功(组织不均匀,质量不稳定),但是,石墨转化率很高,形成了以细粒度金刚石为主体同时含有触媒和少量未转化石墨的合成棒。另一项成果是当时刚开始的西德采用粉末触媒合成粗粒度高强度金刚石的新技术。第三项新技术是俄罗斯在双面凹压机上直接生产树脂磨具用金刚石磨料的新方法。

5 CSD金刚石合成工艺参数的试验研究

针对合成CSD自锐性金刚石的特殊要求,对合成压力、温度、时间各个参数以及参数和参数体系,包括分段加压过程中的开始加热压力、暂停压力、保压压力,开始加热功率、暂停功率、合成保压功率,以及暂停时间、保压时间等各个参数和参数体系,进行了分别选择和系统整体优化组合试验。试验结果表明,生长CSD自锐性金刚石的合成工艺参数与通常合成常规金刚石磨料的工艺参数有一定差别。主要差别是:合成压力稍高(P≈5.5GPa);合成温度稍低(t≈1450℃):合成时间大大缩短,实际生长有效时间约13min,暂停时间也相应缩短,在0~60s之间;单次合成时间周期4~5min,包含合成前后的升压和卸压等辅助时间在内。

以6×10MN六面顶压机θ20mm腔体为例,合成金刚石主要参数如下:

6 结论

试验研究表明,选用合适的粉状石墨和触媒作为原料,采用适当的组装方式和适当的合成工艺,在国产六面顶压机上,可以生产出CSD自锐性金刚石磨料。这种新产品颗粒为团粒结构,颗粒形状为等积形,表面粗糙,凹凸不平,与结合剂结合力强。在磨削过程中,CSD磨料呈微刃破碎,磨削锋利,而且耐用,是RVD的更新换代产品,值得推广应用。
